light * Macro Monday

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light… Arise, shine; for thy light is come… Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life…”  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

[Isaiah 9:2, Isaiah 60:1, John 8:12, Ephesians 5:8, Matthew 5:16]

Our God is a consuming fire.

[Hebrews 12:29]

  1. Just yesterday, we learned in F.B.I., the background of the story in John 8. Basically, when He said: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life…” He was declaring that He was GOD. The day before, when He said: “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” He was declaring the Holy Spirit. Given the context of the passage it was during Sukklot – The Feast of Booths, or The Feast of Tabernacles

It’s a *really* amazing story and series of events in that passage!
