clean * Macro Monday

Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?
Or who shall stand in His holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart…
[Psalm 24:4]

Outward, practical holiness is a very precious mark of grace. Those who draw near to God must have”clean hands.”  But “clean hands” would not suffice, unless they were connected with “a pure heart.” True religion is heart-work.  There must be a work of grace in the core of the heart as well as in the palm of the hand, or our religion is a delusion.  The pure in heart shall see God, all others are but blind…

[C. H. Spurgeon]
