what it’s all about

Jingle bells.  Twinkling lights.  Presents.  Trees.  Snow (if you live the right parts of the country).  Vacation time.  Red and green.  Family and friends.  Poinsettias.  Sugar Cookies.  Stockings.

Aren’t those some of the first things you think of when you hear the word “Christmas”?  And yet the true meaning infinitely deeper.  It’s a “birthday”.  And because of this birthday we have the opportunity to have spiritual birthdays.  Without the birth of a Savior we would be doomed to spiritual death.

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. [Luke 19:10]

Who would have thought that one Baby could have changed the course of the world, the destiny of our souls?  Who but God would use what seems like simple circumstances to have a dramatic impact on our eternity?

But it’s up to you.  You can reject it or you can accept it.  Nothing will have a greater impact on your life – and ultimately your eternity.  So, I challenge you… Focus on the One that was “born to die” –  He focused on you!

The dawn of redeeming grace…. Jesus, Lord at Thy birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining… Till He appeared!
Remember Christ our Savior was born on Christmas to save us all from Satan’s power when we were gone astray… Oh, tidings of comfort and joy!

  1. I absolutely *love* this post. You shared some excellent thoughts, and that is a *beautiful* picture – so unique & pretty. It amazes me to think that God would send His Son as a baby – born to die. But He did, and I’m ever so thankful.

  2. Me thinks your profound thoughts and stellar photos should be bound in print…Have you thought about finding a publisher for your great devotions…? They are worthy
    to be offered ~
